The Beauty of Capri

Capri’s majestic landscapes and breathtaking views overlooking the Bay of Naples and Tyrrhenian Sea have inspired travelers since the times of Ancient Rome. Dotted with stunning limestone cliffs and aromatic flora, the island served as a pristine getaway for Roman emperors. A luxurious vibe still permeates the island today with upscale shopping, five-star dining and extravagant hotels. The island boasts two charming towns, Capri and Anacapri, and both provide a friendly welcome to seafaring guests.

Day One: Blue Grotto

A narrow opening in the side of a rocky cliff creates a portal to the most enchanting spot along the island. Sunlight enters the sea cavern through the crevice and reflects an alluring azure-blue tint along the water’s surface.

Passengers board charming rowboats and must lay back for safe entry into this romantic cave. The skipper heightens the ambiance by echoing traditional songs along the rocky walls as you coast through this magical setting.

Day Two: Monte Solaro

Capri’s highest peak offers sweeping views of the island’s jagged landscapes and the Amalfi Coast along the horizon. At an elevation of 589-meters, the mountaintop provides a magnificent vista overlooking the rocky inlets just off the coast.

The journey to Monte Solaro’s peak can be completed by an adventurous hike or a relaxing 10-15 minute ride on a chairlift. Nestled along the mountain’s slopes, you will find the hermitage of Santa Maria a Cetrella and the medieval Barbarossa Castle.

Day Four: Gardens of Augustus

For more incredible views of the sea, the radiant Gardens of Augustus are perfectly located for a photo of the iconic Faraglioni. Terraces decorate the hillside and cast a pleasant aroma of the diverse flora found in Capri.

The other side of the gardens are perched above the serpentine Via Krupp and the historic Marina Piccola. German businessman Friedrich Alfred Krupp initiated the impressive project around the turn of the 20th century to build a pathway connecting the gardens and marina.
